Our students participated in a walk to support JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) on April 13. This research foundation is working diligently to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Black Elementary has donated over $100,000 to this organization over the years. This service project is a great way for our students to give back and help others who suffer from Type 1 Diabetes. Students raised over $17,000 for this cause. What a great community service project. I am so proud of our Bearkats for their hard work and generosity.
